While driving through an apartment complex alley, Officers Marc Beretta & Aaron Offenberg see a red sedan with two doors open and a person crouching low in the driver’s seat. Officers decide to investigate and make contact with the occupant. Officer Offendberg orders the person out of the car. The male drops his hands out of sight several times, so officer Offendberg decides to place male in cuffs. While patting the man down for weapons Officer Offendberg discovers a small amount of drugs that has fallen out of the mans pants leg. The suspect attempts to destroy the drugs by stomping on them and attempts to breakaway from officers. The cuffed suspect is taken to ground and continues to fight, and is finally tased.

The vehicle is found to be stolen, and a search of the vehicle reveals stolen credit cards and check books. Further investigation reveals a female who walked up during the struggle is an accomplice and is detained. Officers question her and she denies any wrong-doing. The male suspect is arrested for numerous felony charges, and the female is arrest for possession of stolen property.

Why Law EnforcementWhen I was 19, went on a ride along with a San Jose Police officer. Never had any prior law enforcement relatives or friends, nor military background. After the ride along I knew right away that this was what I wanted to do for career, as well as to give back to the community that I grew up in.
First ArrestThe first arrest I made was transient male who was under the influence of narcotics. I arrested him for being under the influence of “crystal meth”
Best part of the jobThe best part if my job is the ability to make in impact on the commiunity I grew up in. I’ve seen the city of San Jose go through many changes crime wise. To be able to know that my friends and family live here, and to know that I’m doing my part to keep them safe every day is a great feeling.
HobbiesIn my spare time I’m involved mostly playing sports. I Golf two times a week and play basketball as well in a mens basketball league with several my friends that I grew up with. I also like to travel when I have time and love the beach.
