Officer Andrew McKalips backs up a SGT who is on scene at a Donut Shop, where a baker with a warrant runs into the Shop to hide from officers. After a long standoff, the owner arrives and lets officers in. K9 goes in first, but the male gives up easily and is taken into custody. He is arrested and swears he just thought the officers were outside waiting for the bakery to open. He tells how his girlfriend, who is a prostitute, called in and gave up his location, because she was mad at him. Owner says the guy is a good baker, but has some personal issues to work out.
Officer McKalips assists another officer who starts a pursuit with a single occupied Nissan Pathfinder. After making a sharp turn the SUV crashes into a fire-hydrant and the suspect bails on foot. Officers finally apprehend the suspect, who says he ran because “He was scared” and was going to “Pay a bill” at 3 am! It turns out the officer that started the pursuit, wasn’t even interested in the Pathfinder. He was running code to assist another officer, and spooked the guy into jerking across the street to flee, so he re routed and went after him instead.
