While on patrol Officers Hollingsworth and Bolton observe a vehicle known to have an extensive criminal history blow a stop sign. They attempt to make a traffic stop, however the vehicle atempts to evade them. After observing the vehicle go through stop sign after stop sign they turn off their lights and follow at a safe distance with only a dust trail giving a hint of where the vehicle has gone. The vehicle disappears and the dust trail dies when suddenly dispatch relays a message that a good samaritan had called and witnessed two people getting out of a vehicle. Officers canvas the area and over the radio K9 Officer Jeff Ferneau calls out that he’s located two people possibly matching the description. Shortly thereafter he calls out a foot pursuit. Officers arrive at the takedown of the male suspect in a backyard and he is taken into custody and a small camera case bag containing numerous bags of meth is discovered on him. The female is located in a nearby vacant house and upon hearing the K9 surrenders to officers.

Why Law EnforcementI started my LE career at age 18 in the US Army Military Police Corps. After my first tour in Iraq as an MP I wanted to keep serving.  So I put myself through an Academy at a local University.  I got picked up really quick by Bolivar Missouri Police Department and worked there for 4.5 years before going to Springfield.
First ArrestI actually had to arrest a friend from High School on an outstanding warrant.  My FTO and I ran across him at an accident scene and my FTO asked me to check his driving status.  I ended up arresting him on a misdemeanor warrant. My first arrest in Springfield was on a guy selling Marijuana in a parking lot.  The girl he was selling to didn’t know when to be quite.  She randomly told me that it was her first time buying marijuana from someone.
Best part of the jobI love working with the caliber of men and women at my job.  They are like a family and we all treat each other as such.  Its a great feeling when we come together and help the community. I also enjoy chasing bad guys.  I always was the cop during COPS and ROBBERS as a kid.
HobbiesI am an avid hunter.  I spend a lot time shooting my bow and deer hunting.  I spend a lot of time just sitting in a tree in the woods.  It helps me to relax.  I also enjoy getting away with my family.
