|Agency||Stockton Police Department|
|Station/Area Command||Community Response Team|
|Why Law Enforcement||I was actually at a crossroad in my life where I had suddenly found myself with an opportunity to completely change directions, so when a close friend of mine got hired with Stockton PD I decided to put in an application with no real expectations. Although I had no idea at the time, it really was one of the most important decisions I’ve ever made.|
|First Arrest||Although it wasn’t at the time, its pretty funny when I think back to my first months on the street. There are just so many variables to every encounter and every call that it was utterly mind numbing at times. My very first arrest wasn’t too difficult though. My training Officer and I checked out a guy who had just jaywalked across a street. I ran a records check and found that he had a warrant. It’s such a simple thing to do now, but on that day It probably took me half the day just to get him photographed, fingerprinted, and booked into jail.|
|Best part of the job||I grew up playing sports and being part of teams and I think there is something really special about being able to build those types of relationships with people. That’s what’s so great about police work–it’s very much a family affair because the reality of winning and losing here are often the difference between life and death.|
|Hobbies||I like camping and riding my dirt bikes.|
|Favorite Quote||Losing isn’t an option|
